Another barn weekend/visit

Hello!!

Our two steers came home Friday morning!  Burger and T-Bone are trying to figure out where all the other cows went...

Mimi and Pops came up for another 4 day weekend- to visit and to build on the barn!  The barn is pretty much completely sided now, except for doors and the little area between the two roofs, and it looks wonderful!  Some of the tongue-and-groove boards have gone up for the stalls too, and it is coming together very nicely.  Some day my pony will live there... :)

We had a really nice visit with them- Mimi helped to take care of me while Mommy worked and Pops and Daddy helped with the barn.  I had a portrait sitting Friday evening- we'll let everyone know as soon as the pictures become available!!  Afterwards we went to a yummy dinner at a local Italian restaurant.

Saturday evening, we went out to dinner (at a different Italian restaurant!) and met up with Cousin Ben and his girlfriend, Shannon.  Mommy unfortunately had to take care of a few sick cows and didn't get to be with us the whole time.  I've been such a good girl lately- I am talking more and more, and so strong sitting up now!  Mommy even brought my playpen back from the office, and I have been enjoying sitting in it and playing with my toys!

This coming week will be a busy one, and Mommy is on call again next weekend, so we'll post again as soon as we have time!

Gorgeous day for a kite festival!

Daddy had to work today, but luckily got stationed at the kite festival in Salem!  Mommy and I went up before lunch and hung out with him there for several hours, until they were getting ready to shut it down.  It was an incredibly beautiful day with great wind- so many different types of kites, and some pretty cool demonstrations!  There were tons of families there, many with babies or young kids, and I even got complimented on my outfit by one of the young girls!

That's just a little too yucky

Last night we tried peas but Emma said no way Jose.  We will post a photo of her face later.  Today, daddy and Emma worked in the garden pulling grass and planting.  Emma stayed in her stroller and liked talking to the chickens that came in to "help" daddy in the soil.

Emma is making some new noises and seems happy with the sounds.  We are also enjoying dinners together with the family and she seems to really enjoy the rice cereal.  We are looking into the next vegetable for her and will let you all know how it goes.

Emma with new toys from Nana

This is me with one of my new toys from Nana.  This one scared the bejeezers out of me when daddy pulled the little bee out and it vibrated.  We all agreed we won't be doing that again until I am a little older.  Even I didn't think I could make that much noise!

TCB'n baby- Takin' care of biddness!

Daddy entertained me again with Dixie's stunts- she's a pretty goofy looking dog, she makes me laugh!!!

In case you can't read my onesie, it says "I'm cute."  How did they know that when they made it??

Today was one of those rare days that Mommy and Daddy are *both* home!  They were taking advantage of the wonderful weather (well, there were at least a few hours without the wind!), getting things done.  Daddy is just about finished with the new chicken coop- we're getting more layers and they'll live out in our front pasture with an electric mesh fence to keep them from getting out and doing more destruction to the property with the existing birds... (Mommy says argh...)  We also hung out together while Daddy planted some more blueberry bushes in the back- I can't wait until there are berries to pick!  Maybe by the time I'm 5 years old there will be some berries...

It's hard to believe I'm already 6 months old!  And one week to boot!
