Ahhh the old poop days

The beginning of more solid foods is having the effect we read about but denied would ever come.  On a lighter side, daddy continues to find new ticklish spots that she loves to have tickled.  He'll try and post a video of her laughing at some point.  Right now, mommy and cousin (to mommy) Heather are giving Emma a bath.  We've had a week of rain and the garden is growing like crazy.  The onions look nice, strawberries are in and delicious, spinach is still going and so is the lettuce.  Out fruit trees have developed some strange, poorly formed leaves and we're having an extension agent work with us on figuring out what could be causing it.  Everyone says hello to all of our readers!

Food updates

Emma is now eating a mashed banana and milk mix for lunch and a sweet potato and milk mix for dinner with a slice of banana for desert.  She likes her meals a lot and seems to be eating more and more and everything we give her. She doesn't make quite the mess as she first did when we started with feeding her.  That is all for now...

Here's Emma giving her best rendition of Michael Flatley's "Riverdance"

Emma's new toy

It may not be thrilling to many other people, but my latest and greatest toy is a plate!  Mommy got it on video but hasn't been able to load it yet... it might be too big of a file?!?  Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know we're doing well, I'll be going in for a booster shot tomorrow probably, and other than that we're hanging out and playing on Mommy's day off!  We hope to get some pictures up soon for those of you who are photo-hungry!

These are my new friends- Gregory and Annalisa.  Their parents are friends of Mommy and Daddy's from the vet school.  They came up for a visit this weekend, and I got to play with other babies for the first time!  It was all very exciting!
Here's all the mommies and babies!  Please note, I was *not* happy that our weekend was coming to a close!
After so much visiting and playing, a good soaking bath was in order.  Mommy let me have some nakey play time before bed to dry out real good.

I guess the only other recent event is that I've decided bananas are ok... I've had a couple of small meals of rice cereal with some banana mashed into it, and I guess it's pretty ok...  We'll keep trying new things I guess... :)

Emmavision

This is cute, not much talking but wait till the end!

Mommy's first Mommy's day!

I got a great surprise last week- Mimi and Pops decided at the last minute to come visit for the weekend!  It was so nice, especially since Mommy didn't have to be on call for once!  We had a great day on Saturday, and Mimi and Mommy especially enjoyed Sunday since it was Mother's Day!  We got to visit a lot, went out to eat some, and had a little shopping time at Home Depot.  Pops spent many hours mowing the grass and edging... the place looks so nice!  We have gotten so much rain lately that everything is growing out of control!

Nana- I tried the sweet potatoes thinned with some milk tonight and still don't get it!!  Maybe it will grow on me... :)

Here are some recent pictures and some from Mommy's Day:
Forgot my dentures again!

Above is a picture of me on my 7 month birthday!

Today daddy and Emma went into town together.  We went grocery shopping and picked up some plants for the garden.  Everything was going good until the end of the grocery trip.  Emma started getting grumpy and then daddy had to pick her up out of the cart.  It didn't help that daddy forgot some stuff and also forgot to use some of the coupons!  All told, we were gone for about 2 hours.

This weekend we have friends coming from out of town to stay.  They are friends of mommy and daddy that have babies of their own. Should be a fun weekend with three babies in one house!

Emma is saying "dadadadada" now although daddy has no delusions this is about him.  She is also saying "dagnabit"  which is pretty funny.  Still no crawling.

Nana, so far, the sweet potatoes are not the hit we were hoping for.  We'll try to thin it out tomorrow with some milk and see if that is any better.

This is for Aiden and Sean.  Emma says a big thank you for the cow doll.  She loves playing with his orange tail and blue horns!

Little observations

Emma seems close to figuring out how to crawl.  If I bring her legs up under her belly while she is doing a pushup she seems to know to push with her toes and move forward to get something I put in front of her.
She is turning around completely in the jungle jumparoo on her own.
Mommy unofficially weighed Emma at the office and she was at 13 pounds.
Emma has let daddy go out and work from time to time by accompanying him in her stroller and watching and talking to the chickens.
We can watch her dexterity growing.  She can palm a wooden block with one hand but still uses two.  She is gripping the little balls she has better so her hand better forms around the round shape.
Right now, she is talking and bouncing herself in the jumparoo while I type.  She picks up her legs so she sinks down and then jumps off the ground making the jumparoo go up in the air.  She is talking and growling and screeching.  We have to do a second helping of her bottle so we'll stop here.
Love,
Daddy, Emma, and Mommy
