The teeth demand attention

Emma is cutting teeth to the sides of her top two incisors and is also cutting at least one molar further to the rear of her mouth. She has been cranky in the morning but Tylenol takes care of it. Right now, daddy was ordering himself some sunglasses and a snowtube from Campmor so Emma is digging through the wallet and removing all of the cards and trying to put them back in. We've cleaned the upstairs windows and done some laundry to prepare for mimi and poppop this weekend. Emma is pretty much walking everywhere now unless her toys are on the floor and she can't walk over them. It'll be neat to see how she does outside but we still have a lot of snow on the ground here.

Sledding!!!

Ok, so officially this isn't the "maiden" voyage of the Mountain Boy, but it was the first time it really got going! After priming the path a couple of times, it worked pretty well! Mommy and Daddy were a little more into it than Emma, but she hung out with us. We used the tractor to pull the sled out to the hill, sledding in style.

And Miss Emma doing more laundry- she even knows she has to spin the knob to get it set- it's too cute!

Our tree is finally up!

Here is mommy and Emma putting some decorations on our tree.
Some of the monstercles off the back of our house

This is the barn from our upstairs bathroom window. The snow off the top section of roof just fell onto the lower wing. It didn't do anything else until Robyn went out in the evening on a call. As she unlocked her doors and her horn honked, the rest came crashing down to the driveway. She actually got hung up in the deep snow and we had to use the tractor to pull her truck out!
An out of order Christmas tree picture. Emma did more walking today just for the fun of it. Daddy didn't prompt her or anything. She walked about 12 feet and then returned and then back and forth about 4 times. She did really well.

Emma at 14 months

Ok, so I just realized that we've been posting several videos but have been neglecting the stills this month... So here's a catch- up version of Emma at 14 months!
She's started doing some doodling...
She loves riding the zebra!!!!
I want to edit this picture to have a balloon that says "YEEEEHAW!" next to her mouth!
She's been enjoying Daddy's guitar playing and likes to strum a little herself, she even uses a pick!
Very satisfied with herself for emptying out the whole entire guitar case... music included...
Going a little gangsta with the overalls here....
A shot in her Christmas getup- I can't remember for sure, but I think she was actually pretty upset here... no, we'll call it a happy Christmas smile! hahaha

She's been begging for us to put her up on the counters lately- she loves going through the dishes and the baking cabinet- hopefully we have a little cook on our hands!
Helping Daddy brush Dixie
Out of order! More spices!!!
This is a funny pony pillow Emma got for Christmas from some friends at work, she loves to play "collapse" on it and was getting very much into some odd yoga poses!
Playing with Mommy's water bottle, all kinds of things fit into it!

Here's the results of the first day of snow, totaled about 12 inches. We got more the next day, but the wind blew so strong I don't know how much it ended up totalling. It's a lot!
One of Emma's favorite pastimes still- reading!!
Our little snow bunny! Unfortunately the wind was too strong for us to play outside yesterday while Daddy was home... this was a quick visit out, she's so bundled up she can't hardly keep herself sitting up, so we called it a day. With any luck the snow will hang around until Christmas when we're together again all day and we can sled on the back hill!

Daddy has a rough face!

Emma was systematically brushing Daddy's rough face, then going for a ride... then again and again! She started giving little love bites on Daddy's neck... she's silly!!!

Here's a little taste!

Emma is taking a few steps on her own. We have it on regular video camera but have to get it on our other camera to post on here.

Emma doing chores

Ok, so we've put Emma to work. Laundry is her first chore! She enjoyed taking the diapers out of the washer and transferring them into the dryer- when she was done, she wanted to start moving them back into the washer!

little tidbits

We don't want to jinx ourselves so we'll just say that the issues we've had with Emma not wanting to fully utilize her crib throughout the night has not been an issue for a couple of weeks now. We'll leave it at that...'nuff said.

She has at least 4 teeth coming in up top. She has done remarkably well only needing tylenol a few times. She loves peek a boo with her clothing. Daddy gets real nervous when he can't find her right away and he starts to yell for her. She always pops up right where he last saw her and is much relieved!

She also seems to want to finish words we start and makes sounds that are close. Maybe talking soon?

Random pictures

This is a raptor that was hanging out under the tree outside our kitchen window. It was also near our chickens but I think he was hunting the little birds that hang out in our tree and eat the chicken feed. I want to call it a peregrine falcon but I'm not 1oo% on it.
Emma in Dixie's bed. One of her favorite places with a very tolerant dog.
Emma writing! She likes to play with the pencils and is starting to figure out which end writes on the paper. I am hoping to have Emma sign Christmas cards this year but don't be disappointed if she doesn't get to every card.

Emma riding her zebra

Emma just today started swinging her leg over the zebra and riding on it. Up to now she's been standing by it and spinning the wheel to make the lights and noise come on. If daddy has time today, he'll post another of Emma's endeavors....stay tuned

Daddy reading to Emma

Emma has been such a fan of books, and she really loves being read to- we can tell her to bring us a book, she'll bring it over, and plop down in our laps to be read to. She likes to turn the pages herself, which can sometimes lead to speed-reading or possibly ending at the beginning. She's especially fond of "Meet Tom Kitten" and loves the ending- giggle!
