Back from St. Louis!

We went to St. Louis this past weekend for a CE meeting, and we had a great time! Emma did wonderfully on our trip in, even with the 10 minute sprint of a layover in Chicago! She enjoyed all the sights and people (everyone was very interested in meeting her and making her laugh or smile... or sometimes cry... :P) She ate well, had some good playtimes, and enjoyed going for several walks. We even got to take a few minutes to go explore the arch and got to go all the way to the top! The trip home was a little more difficult- the first leg of the trip went perfectly, but about 10 minutes into the second flight, Emma had a bit of a meltdown- she was exhausted, and it took a little while to convince her to settle down and she took a nice heavy nap. Man that little girl can make a lot of noise!!!

She has been standing strong and occasionally will balance for a brief moment. She's also just started actually pointing- before she would "point" with an open hand, and she's now using her pointer finger alone! It's such a cute little knobby finger, I hope to get a picture of her pointing on here soon! She's learning lots of names for things and can point to several objects when we give their names- she's making connections!

We're hoping to have a relatively quiet week and recover a little from our busy weekend!

Here's Emma all excited about her first flight-
Emma really enjoyed looking out the window while we flew-
Emma giving Daddy a big kiss- this second leg of the journey was hot- the AC in the back of the plane didn't work too well, so Emma had the luxury of being partially naked- everyone else wished they could do the same... ugh, so stuffy!
Here we are at the sign going to the arch-

Emma and Daddy in the little shuttle to the top of the arch-
Here we are at the highest point in the arch!
The view from the top of the arch- our hotel is right at the bottom with the two towers- one short and wide, the other skinny and tall. Just behind the hotel is the baseball stadium where the St Louis Cardinals play- there were two games going on while we were there.
Mommy giving Emma a big kiss!!
Emma got a big kick out of looking out the windows of the arch-
At the base of the arch-
Emma kept herself entertained with some of the decorations in the conference room- our dinners ended up being quite late, and Emma handled the delayed bedtime really well.
Still have yet to get a picture of that little finger pointing!!

Wow, I'm jealous. Only one year old and she's already been to the top of the arch! I've been at the bottom a couple of times, but still haven't made it to the top.
