Well, today Daddy had to say goodbye and head back home. We know he will miss us terribly, but on the bright side, he will get some good sleep for once! This has been a long 3 months with him spending just about every night with Emma Kate in the hospital, (read: no sleep). There were several nights that Mimi stayed with her and Daddy got to sleep a little, but he was mostly at the mercy of the lights, monitors, alarms, and nurses. Hopefully he can settle back in at home and be all rested up and rearing to go when we get home! Our steers have been taken off to the butcher, and with old Ben passing away, Charlie is left all alone in the pasture, so I'm glad Greg will be there to care for him and make sure he's handling it ok. And the poor cats- they must be so relieved to have someone home again! I can't imagine all the cuddling he will have to endure tonight! We can't give enough thanks to our wonderful neighbors and friends for helping out with the "homestead" over these hard three months. Wow.
Mommy spent most of the day trying to start sorting through some of the bills that are rolling in... it's a bit daunting, and I suspect that these billing companies make things extra complicated so that you just want to give up and pay what they say to pay, instead of double checking everything... why can't it be more straightforward?
Tomorrow starts the reduction in calories for Emma Kate's TPN/lipids, and we get an additional 2 hours to our window! Unfortunately, tomorrow is also the day for her cap and dressing change, which is always a little more than stressful. Hopefully it will be over quickly, and maybe we can find something fun and exciting to do in the afternoon!
