I know, more words...
Ok, we're working on some pictures! Just wanted to say that Emma has slept through the night for the first time *ever* in her life!!! She went from sleeping anywhere from 2-4 hours in a stretch then did two nights at 6 hours, then suddenly last night she slept right through from 8:30pm to 7:20am! Almost 11 hours! I was amazed... Unfortunately I missed out on the long continuous sleep- I kept waking up thinking she would be up any mintue... it just never happened! I won't get my hopes up too much, but maybe this is the start of something wonderful...

It's a new record!
Ok, the last two nights, Emma has been asleep by 8:30 approximately, and she hasn't gotten us up until 2:30am! It's a record!!!! Now if only Mommy and Daddy could get into bed at 8:30, the world would be a happy place!
More pictures tomorrow, I promise- Mommy is off Wednesday! Yay!

New moves!
Ok, so the sleeping change wasn't necessarily permanent... we're still working on that one!
For the last 2 days, we've been showing Emma how to get down off the bed by getting on her belly, swiveling her legs around and over the edge of the bed, then sliding off. This morning, she did it all by herself! She has a toy/book corner by the bed, and she likes to get down to them in the morning.
The other thing she's doing a lot is pushing chairs like walkers- she holds onto the front of the seat while we move the chair around, and she walks along with it- it's good practice!
This weekend is gorgeous- too bad it's half over, hopefully we'll be getting outside for some fresh air and a couple nice walks today.

A good night!!
So, no pictures or anything, just wanted to document for posterity... last night, Emma went down to sleep at 8:30, and we didn't hear a peep from her until 1:30am! This is a true record! Usually she fusses a little around 9:45 or so, but not last night! Hopefully this is the beginning of many many long quiet nights, to get longer and longer of course!
Ok, I won't get too excited... it will surely jinx me. We'll see what happens tonight!

The typical Emma day
Here is a sampling of what goes on now during a day with Emma when daddy is home.
-Awake and active by 7:15 to 7:30.
-Mommy gets up and showers while daddy changes Emma and gets her clothes on.
-Help daddy cook breakfast for family. Plays on floor and goes through cabinets.
-Eats breakfast with family. She is liking pancakes and oatmeal a lot.
-If it is nice out, we go for a walk.
-She has her first nap around 9:30 to 10:00 which is nice for daddy if he was up at night at work.
-Sleep for about an hour to hour and a half.
-Get lunch.
-Play around or help daddy with projects.
-Second nap is around 2:30 to 4:00 and lasts around an hour or so.
-After second nap we may go for a walk and visit with neighbors or start getting dinner ready.
-We eat dinner together and have found that we can put Emma's food lined up so she can point to different things that she wants. She is eating very well all of a sudden.
-We play until bath time at 7:00pm.
-After her bath, she has naked time and plays and reads her books while we clean the house and kitchen.
-She is in bed by 8:00pm with mommy.
-Mommy can then slip away and finish her business while she sleeps.
Emma is still sleeping only 3-4 hours at a time at night before she wants to nurse but such is our lot. She will eat just about anything now. She had chicken the other night and did not mind the texture this time. She has eaten ground beef as well but that is about it for meat. She does love her vegetables though.
We have a doctor appointment coming up in about 10 days so we'll let everyone know the weight and length when we find out.
She is also standing on her own for about 5 seconds. She does it when she is standing leaning on something and we get her to clap with us. It's like she forgets she wants to hold on to something.
Halloween night
Emma crawling to her toy dog
Emma getting the outfit on. Thrilled is an understatement. Notice the little horns on top!

Well, we're not going out tonight but we dressed up Emma in the cow costume that Nana sent last year. She didn't quite fit but we got it on enough of her to take some pictures. The little horns were really funny and Emma matched Sophie the cat in looking like a holstein.
