Before you walk you must stand!

So there was daddy just a few minutes ago sitting on the floor in the living room playing with Emma.  Emma got up on my leg and then bingo bango!  She's up.  She sat back down (nicely, I might add).  I reached behind me to get the phone to call mommy and found Emma had done it again!  

No, we don't keep Emma in a cage...

In her many travels around the house, since learning to crawl, Emma has recently discovered Dixie's crate- she uses it to try standing up, and she likes to reach through the grate to play in Dixie's water- she's just fascinated by it!  She'll get her legs spread out and give a little effort trying to stand up...

Changes by the day

Emma is now crawling very well and will pick her butt up in the air like she wants to stand but doesn't yet have the mechanics.   Last Saturday, we went to the New River Fair and decided instead to go to a local park in Dublin.  We went for a picnic and long stroller walk. Mommy and I had a great long-weekend at Mimi and PopPop's house.  We had some great days of picking berries- blackberries and blueberries to be exact- it was wonderful other than Mommy coming home with a case of chiggers (yuck!!).  Auntie Kimberly and Uncle Chris were also up visiting from OBX, and we had a great afternoon visiting with the Saz side of the family- Grampa, Abuelita, and Uncle Michael came down for a lunchtime visit, and unfortunately I was showing my grumpier side... sorry for all the extra fussing that day!  It was great to see everyone though! :)

Before you can walk you must CRAWL!

We're on the MOVE!

Well, it's official... today Emma figured out how to crawl!  She's on the move and working on some rug burn on those chubby little knees!  In a matter of a couple hours she went from unable to move forward to full-on crawling!  We're going to have to break out the gates and make sure everything is safe now that she won't ever stay put again!  We've got her on regular video but we don't yet have it on the camera that will load onto the computer- we'll post it as soon as we can for everyone to enjoy!!

Pictures, Pictures!

Not a whole lot going on right now, crawling continues to loom over us, and those two little teeth are continuing to grow!  I tried to get a picture to show them, but it hasn't worked out yet...  Mommy is on call again this weekend, and we're just working around the house and barn getting things done.  Emma enjoyed a long morning outside in the grass while the blueberries got watered- there are two ripe blueberries, and we've had a small handful of raspberries since we put bird netting up!  

Emma has learned how to undo her diaper covers- they make a fun sound! :)  I'm sure this will become an issue as more and more half-nakey time arrives with the warmer weather...
This is another new fun toy- a measuring cup!  It also doubles as a teether- she loves it!
Mommy was playing around with the camera settings and got this cool picture- click on it to see it full sized- her blue eyes, the blue dots on her shirt, and the blue in the carpet are the only things in color... cool feature!
